Huu Nyugen
“I would be out in the night, you know one or two in the morning, coming back home, and their would be three or four years olds in the streets with their bikes at like one or two and im like where are the parents? so for me it wasn't direct violence but for me once of twice where i was in the middle of some sort of cross fire but that only happened twice to me in the neighborhood but i bring up this idea of child on the streets by themselves because that is the cycle that source of youth violence, but their sorda this scene of abandoned, i think that is a huge factor of denominator in youth violence”
Huu expressed that Cps does work on Academics but not social-emotional issues amongst their students because the ACT test is meant to wave out certain people and test the teachers skills to teach while leaving out students emotional intelligence. Also believes that schools should work with children's emotions to grow and learn to find herself/himself because the .Huu believed this because many students in schools today don't have classes that help build emotions as growin up, for instance not enough art classes and group emotion building classes.
Huu said that she wanted to be a Pharmacognosist but, gave up on dream after being the mother of two girls, Huu now works with IFCA program (International child art foundation) That works with toddlers a children to build their emotions like through art, dance.Hu's work with the ICFA is important in young children to help them develop and build on the emotions in life.
Huu stated that Youth violence is based on children being Abandoned while little she believed that it is the cycle of youth violence.“I would be out in the night, you know one or two in the morning, coming back home, and their would be three or four years olds in the streets with their bikes at like one or two and im like where are the parents? so for me it wasn't direct violence but for me once of twice where i was in the middle of some sort of cross fire but that only happened twice to me in the neighborhood but i bring up this idea of child on the streets by themselves because that is the cycle that source of youth violence, but their sorda this scene of abandoned, i think that is a huge factor of denominator in youth violence”. Huu also stated that while being young and left alone they don't develop the emotions or bond with their caretaker, so they develop Abandonate anxiety, the fear of being abandoned or left alone.
Huus view on a community hero is someone who transforms or works toward themselves and build up to stay calm in any situation to come ahead. Huu would like to change the world for ,humans in general and would like to better humans actions with each other.” I would love to change how we, as humans, interact with one another. Developing a practice of acting/behaving that is based on empathy is one way that I would implement this change. Implementing the development of empathy would have to start in public policy. We have to first recognize that there is an alarming epidemic of self-centeredness and ego; this is a mental wellness issue, a public health issue. We have to put into policy ways to help our communities grow and nurture empathy, which is to make sure it is the center of all curriculum in schools and other institutions. Social psychology should be a subject that is studied and practiced from early childhood all the way beyond high school and higher education. It should be integrated into the values of all institutions, and this virtue of empathy should be one of the highest merits one can achieve or develop. We have to shift our perspectives on what is valuable. We need to capitalize on values that nurture cooperation and community.”
