Jorge Rodriguez

This is the life about Jorge Rodriguez. He was born in Guatemala city,then moved to Chicago. He was a Humboldt Park native who has lived there for his entire life,until he had got his own house.When he was child on his block him and his friends would often get shot at. He mentions his life was hard growing up without a father figure but he had a father but he was abusive. He helps young youth today to help them with their problems and teach them integrity.

He feels that education is extremely important and if you choose to get it you'll be interested in something you can start as a career.Having a career helps you sets you up for a good life and get paid well. He says the more you know can help you with life or death situations. The more stuff you know it makes it easier to choose classes you like . The more educated you are the more you know what fits you.                                                                                    

His look on heroes is for it to have perseverance which is the  ability to overcome anything no matter what happens. he feels a hero should be a person who fights for others not for themselves. He said “a strong man stands up for himself but a stronger man stands up for others”. He feels he is a hero because he knew kids who were in gangs and he has helped them get out of it. He said he started B.A.M to help teen youth like us to stay away from gang violence.

What he thought the was affecting our city was gangs and other violence in Chicago. He feels if we had more B.A.M more people would learn integrity and if they had more of that people wouldn't have such savage energy. If we didn't have gangs the city would be the place you could live at. He mentioned how Chicago had the highest murder rate in the world even higher than Iraq. so he feels to prevent that from happening he could make more B.A.M groups to teach our society How thing like that aren't good for the human race.                                                           

His definition on heroes is a person having perseverance. A person who fights for others not for themselves if more people were like that we would have a good society. A hero to him is a war veteran because they fight for our country not just because they fight for a cause not for a block. A hero is a person who fights for justice also and that's his view on heroes.
