Huu Nguyen
Ms. Huu is a very nice, loving and, intelligent women. She was a young Vietnamese child that had struggles as a child. she immigrated to the United States in 1980 but was in a refugee camp before that in Hong Kong but finally made it to the States 12 years ago. As a child she had dreams like any other girl. For example she wished her family had a car like the other girls parent or having her own room. But later on she had dreams to travel. As a child she didn't have many thing but she appreciated very little thing she had.But she eventually learned that thing don't come easy.
As an undergraduate, She studied 3 major: Biology,Biochemistry and Ethnobotany degree. While she was doing these degrees she was still thinking in a Pre medicine degree, but ended up doing pharmacognosy. Pharmacognosy is the study of drug and its origins. Huu thinks that schools now a day have a lot of tests that are meant to fail kids. That kids all don't have the same skills like some will be good at presentation while other aren't. Which test takes away building emotional intelligence, so these tests are not important. She also thinks that CPS is not running school like there suppose to and that why do they close schools.
Ms. HUU has been involved in many national and international conference both as a participant, organizer and an instructor. She co-founded the ICAF-Chicago Capoeira program for toddlers and children, a unique program focused on cultivating self value and self esteem in participating through the use of music and movement. She also works with a non-profitable organization to help children and parents. For Ms.Huu doing this show that she contributes to the community because she is willing to help people in need. She is helping the next generation to become bold, confident, and outspoken.
