Jorge was born in Guatemala city, Guatemala. He works at Kelvyn Park High School, with the BAM program. He tutors and mentors kids. BAM stands for “Becoming A Man.”
Jorge thinks that its important to learn education in the streets not just in school. He feels that students should just be learning what they’re good at. He thinks there’s no point of trying to learn things you just don’t understand or have a hard time dealing with.
Jorge works with kids for a living. He tutors kids and gives them advice about life.He is emotionally supportive to young men.
Jorge thinks that gangs fight for pointless reasons. He said that gangs will kill each other to protect their block for what. He believes that gangs show loyalty but it isn’t worth their lives to have it. His Grandfather was his role model. His grandfather was a really hard worker and was always there for him since his dad left. He also said there’s a difference between a hero and a role model. He said a hero is someone who puts others first and a role model is someone that people look up to.
